The GipsyTeam story began in 2009, shortly after poker pro Ivan Demidov’s prominent success in the WSOP 2008 Main Event, which brought him $5,809,595. Ivan was a member of a team run by the famous Russian poker player and backer Sergey Gipsy Rybachenko. With professional players Stanislav Alekhin, Lika Gerasimova, and poker commentator Ilya Gorodetsky, they joined forces to launch a Russian poker website and forum.
The 2009 World Series of Poker was the first major event covered by GipsyTeam. Our journalists have made annual trips to the WSOP and EPT events ever since, creating text and video reports, interviews with famous players, and podcasts. Ilya Gorodetsky became “the Russian voice” for every major poker show and broadcast. GipsyTeam grew into a broadcast platform for all Russian-language series in Kyiv, Minsk, Batumi, Yerevan, and of course, Northern Cyprus.
The GipsyTeam forum became a gathering place for thousands of professional poker players, not to mention world-renowned high rollers like Timophey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov, Forhayley, Alexander “Joiso” Kostritsyn, and others. It flourished into a community that unites poker players from different countries and cultures.
GipsyTeam isn’t only known as a news site and forum, it’s proven itself as a trustworthy advisor that helps maximize profits. Our history and reputation allow us to provide the best rakeback deals and establish exclusive promotions with poker rooms. The most important development milestone of our website was the emergence of GT+. We created a support and assistance service that can help with any poker situation, from lagging poker software to deposits and withdrawals.
In recent years, we’ve continued to show our members that GipsyTeam is more than just a media website. We have a diverse and rapidly-growing YouTube channel with branded shows, plus several telegram channels, and GT representatives on social networks. GipsyTeam won several nominations at the 2022 Russian Poker Awards, including Best Poker Information Portal.
The GipsyTeam community remains united, despite all the controversies, both at the poker tables and far beyond. Our site’s visitors and friends often meet and help each other in the real world as well. We always welcome new guests. To both newcomers and old-timers who have looked at this page, we’d like to say welcome to GipsyTeam!
