The Poker Masters series took place in Las Vegas.
The $10k tournament was won by grinder Jeremy Becker, who took home $255,000, the largest prize in his career.
A couple of days later, Jeremy took 3rd place in the $15k ($163,800) tournament. In 3-max, he lost with A6o to the T6s of the eventual winner Isaac Haxton ($352,800).
Heartbreak for Jeremy Becker 😭

Second place went to James Collopy, who made four final tables in four days, enough to win the overall series title.
On Day 1 of Tournament #6, Collopy and Nick Shulman played one of the most exciting hands of the series.
Nick raised preflop, and three-barreled all-in on the river. Collopy folded.

Event #7, a $15k buy-in event, featured a master class in street poker from Ren Lin and Jesse Lonis in the first level. The Chinese poker great called a 4-bet with and on the flop without a pair, he shoved with a check raise.
Lonis called with Ace high and was ahead.
On the turn, Lin paired his deuce and knocked out his opponent.
"This is not a misprint," Lonis posted the hand. "This is a $15,700 buy-in. Ren Lin No Future "
The final $25k buy-in tournament of the series was won by Ben "Ben86" Tollerene ($510,000).
Daniel Negreanu made his mark on the series with just one mini-cash in a $10k tournament, but he attracted more attention to it with just one tweet about the stinginess of the regulars :
– "Imagine you are a millionaire playing a $10k buy-in at PokerGo Studio, you order two FREE Fijis from the cocktail waitress.
In your hand is a $5 bill, you go to your pocket and pull out a wad of $100 bills and in there you dig to find two dirty $1 bills.
Waitress comes back with your Fijis and you hand her the two $1 bills.
Could have just sprung for the $5, but nah. You gain $3 in EV for your selfish self.
I guess I should give the guy a little credit for not asking her to break a $1.
Actions speak louder than words.
You had a chance to make a difference for a single mother working her ass off to pay the bills, but you chose the dirty $1’s.
Yes this actually happened, and no I’m not going to publicly name the person, but if that’s you…"
– "How much is the rake of the tournament? Like 1k?" a commentator asked.
– "$100 and you get free food and drinks."
– "At first I thought this was about Mike McDonald reappearing in poker," Shaun Deeb wrote. "but he would have never given her both dollars."
“Maybe a hot take,” Doug Polk disagreed with Negreanu, "and personally, I'd just tip the $5. But I'm not a big fan of tip shaming. Tipping a dollar per water is fine/standard. I don't like getting into territory where we are judging people by what they tip based on the stakes they play..”
Nick Schulman gave an example of a man who never skimps on tips:
– Golfing with Ivey is just hundreds everywhere. Cart guy hundred, pro shop hundred, starter hundo, cart girl of course that’s 100 every time. Guy cutting the grass in a sombrero, here you go my brother, that’s for you lol hundo 🐐
Haralabos Voulgaris calls for a fight against the dominance of advertising and sports betting apps:
– Legalized Sports Betting as it currently stands will devastate America in a similar fashion to the opioid epidemic.
At a bare minimum, I'd recommend these changes -1. Limit Ads: Sports betting ads should be restricted, especially those targeting youth whose decision-making isn't fully developed.
2. No Credit Cards: Ban credit card deposits to prevent gambling with money people don't have.
3. Protect Vulnerable Bettors: Prevent sites from exploiting problem gamblers or VIPs with higher custom limits while simultaneously banning or restricting professionals or winning gamblers.
As someone that made a living betting on Sports in mostly unregulated "outlaw" markets, these are my personal views, I can see how it may come across hypocritical to some.. But thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Curious what changes (if any) would others make?
Another idea was suggested in the comments, which Vulgaris liked:
– Force every app to show a person's lifetime payout total minus lifetime wager total in large font. If a person is five figures in the red, they should be reminded everytime they use the app.
Nick Airball is thinking about a bankroll challenge:
– Thinking about start a YouTube series based around a bet.
I’d like to bet I can turn 20k to 1m just through poker in less than a year.
Any offers in the bet or interest in this as a content idea?
Can bet big or small, bored and looking for a fun new goal.
Commentators agreed that Nick has a much better chance of successfully completing the reverse marathon – from a million to 20k.
YouTube has blocked the Hustler Casino channel, which has 360,000 subscribers.

Ryan Feldman has offered a $1,000 reward for someone who can actually fix something on YouTube. If that person actually helps, the reward will increase to $3,000.
The last stream on YouTube was released last Saturday.
The star of the show is Emile Hirsch, the actor who played the lead role in the new poker film Dead Money.
The film has just been released, and the first reviews have already appeared. On the IMDB website, the film has a good rating of 7.0, although the number of ratings is not the most representative – only 40. Viewers note that the poker component is conveyed well.
Rotten Tomatoes critics didn't rate the new film that highly, with a rating of 27%.
Chris Brewer and Brandon Adams made a sports bet.
– "I am peak heavy and out of shape", – Chris complained . – "Booked a running bet for January and just started training yesterday. Would anyone be interested in me posting workouts/training as I get back into shape (it may be ugly lol)."
Adams explained the terms of the bet:
– The bet is: he wins big if he laps me twice, and I win big if I avoided getting lapped once. Should be a fair bet with good motivation on both sides. My fitness, at 45, has proceeded one prop bet at a time (and yes it's an expensive trainer).
Chris said that at his peak he ran 5km in 14:20, and now his time is 21-23 minutes. By January he hopes to run under 17 minutes.
Adams recently lost a similar bet to Huck Seed, who ran a 5K in 18:20 and beat his rival by a lap.
Sam Greenwood is unhappy with new live poker trends:
– A horrible trend in live poker is people announcing all in and pushing forward a small number of chips. It's confusing, especially because all rhymes with call and there are few greater pleasures in life then pushing a big stack of chips forward.
Daniel Kates has revealed a completely absurd dispute between him and David Oppenheim that they have been unable to resolve for over a year:
– Alright guys so I feel I have to post about David Oppenheim, who I have a personal issue with but has a long history of being difficult (apparently).
This is to set an example also for people who don’t follow through on bets
To keep it simple: We have a 100k bet on who looks better between 10 randomly selected gay guys and 10 randomly selected women 18-60 years old. It is not resolved, and I’ve tried all other options including arbitration
Here is him following texts to confirm and details
Jungleman included several screenshots of his correspondence with David. In one of them, Oppenheim asks him not to talk about the bet online because it is too "embarrassing."
In the comments, many were surprised not even by the terms of the bet, but by the fact that Cates decided to talk about it, since he has no chance of winning in any objective vote.
"I was in the game in person when this went down," Scott Seaver wrote, "and obviously, all of this is completely insane, but the only thing I’ll say is anyone sharp would bet on Oppy 😂"
Indeed, a Twitter poll backed up Scott's claims.
David Williams couldn't help but give some thoughts on the accusation.
"Jungle: Hey everyone I’m gonna out some scammers and non payers soon to protect the community!
Jungle: Let’s play a game…guess who they are? Promise I’ll post them soon!
Jungle: Just gathering my info. Gonna make a poker court system for bad guys to be held accountable!Jungle: So me and this other rich guy bet who was cuter.
LOL 😂"
Kevin Martin didn't like what he saw.
"Every Thanksgiving I'm trying to get my family to respect this industry and y’all are making it real hard"
There has been a lot of action at high stakes online lately.
After another session, Linus Loeliger even noted 2+2:
– 10h+ session and 2k+ hands at nosebleeds (across acr and GG) today for the boys
It's been an epik day for highstakes and the stacks were flying
In one hand, Matt Marinelli called Linus for a stack with A-high.
Lex Veldhuis hosted one of the streams as Ali G
“Imagine winning a WCOOP like this,” he wrote before the start of the session.
And he really won.
