Most modern poker networks are international. In different regions, they offer separate skins, adapted to specific audiences and regulations. That doesn’t necessarily create several rooms that are closed off from each other. After registration, all players can enter a common pool.
IDNPoker Network is an example of this poker-room model. They’re operated by IDNPlay, a brand that offers sports betting and online casino games alongside IDNPoker.
GipsyTeam prepared an article about poker rooms on the IDNPoker Network. You will find out which sites are under this brand’s umbrella, what poker games they offer, and whether you should think about creating an account.
About the IDNPoker Network
One of the most popular networks in Asian countries is IDNPoker Network. The company started in Cambodia, but the headquarters are now in Manilla, in the Philippines. They hold a bmm RNG certificate and a regulated by one of Asia’s largest authorities, the First Cagayan Leisure and Resort Corporation.
IDN claims to have around “600,000 monthly active players,” with 16,000 users during peak times. That would make them one of the biggest player pools in Asia, rivaling GGNetwork.
Countless rooms fall under the IDNPoker banner:
- ShenPoker
- Pokerdee
- SiamPoker
- BK8 Poker
- Fantastic World Poker
- 12BetPoker and others.
At the time of publication of this article, the IDN network includes more than 200 skins. Their problem is locality. Outside the region, you will not be able to download and log in to the client, and these sites have practically no popularity in Europe or America. Registration is only possible with a VPN from outside Asia.
It is useless to rank the rooms of the IDNPoker Network, since it is an association of small local gaming operators. For the user, there is no particular difference in which skin to choose – the difference will be in the logo, as well as in the potential methods of deposit and cash-outs.
Poker players who managed to play at the IDN tables cite the lack of a full-fledged loyalty program. At the same time, there is a rather strange attitude towards rake here – far from being in favor of the players:
- The rake at cash tables is 3%, and a commission is charged for each pot, even if the hand ended preflop.
- In multi-table tournaments, the rake is an astronomical 20%.
- There is no cap on rake, i.e. in theory, its amount tends to infinity at the high roller tables.
What Should You Play on IDNPoker?
IDNPoker is just the poker-focused branch of IDNPlay. The network also has sports betting and casino games, including live dealers.
Holdem and Omaha are played on IDN, as well as a game called Super 10 Poker. You might not have heard of this game. Basically, it's an ante game where players try to get three cards that add to a Super 10, run from Jack to King, or other lesser combinations.
If we talk about online poker , then there are only two disciplines in the IDNPoker Network skins:
- Multi-table tournaments: Nominally, there are MTTs in the rooms, but the schedule is meager. Add the huge rake and you will understand that IDN rooms are not at all suitable for tournament players.
- Cash games: Here the situation is the opposite. According to some statistical sites, traffic at IDN tables reaches 20,000 people online, and this is a comparable value, for example, to PokerStars.
A few facts about IDN skins cash tables:
- The ratio of play in Hold'em and Omaha is 70 to 30
- Available limits – up to NL6,000
- Table formats – 4-max, 6-max and 9-max
- Minimum buy-in per table: 20 big blinds
- One account – one table
Advantages and Disadvantages of IDNPoker
IDNPoker Network, although it is a major player in the online poker market, is local in nature. The software and playing conditions will be unfamiliar to poker players from outside Asia, so our perspective can only be formed from user opinions.
Advantages:
- High cash game traffic
- Weak field
- Bonus for new players
- Ban on trackers and data mining
Disadvantages:
- Bad reputation – reviews regularly appear on forums and large English-language websites in which accusations of bot breeding and superusers are addressed. These aren’t aimed at a specific poker room, but at the entire network
- Low-level software – IDN does not have a full-fledged client for PC, you can play through an HTML5 client. The mobile application is available on Android and iPhone, but it’s essentially a copy of the browser version.
- One account – one table. This is a significant drawback for multitabling fans.
Summary:
Registration in any of the IDNPoker Network skins looks like a dubious prospect. Not only are you risking money, but you will also not receive adequate assistance in case of disputes.
Poker Rooms with Bigger Bonuses and a Solid Reputation
There are many popular poker rooms in Europe and America where creating an account is really profitable and safer than registering with an IDNPoker skin. A more trusted room can offer a bonus and the money is guaranteed to be reliably protected, unlike less trusted operators.
Before you hit the download button for one of the rooms, we recommend reading the review.
