Simple Postflop is one of the most user-friendly poker solvers on the market for preflop and postflop solutions. It finds Nash equilibrium strategies (also known as Game Theory Optimal or GTO) for two-player situations.
This program also adjusts to suit different computers. Well-built PCs can use the most resource-intensive algorithms and still calculate very quickly. If you don’t have a powerful PC, Simple Postflop will adapt and use a less-intensive algorithm.
Simple Postflop is one of eight tools from the Simple Poker development team. They build tools that beginners and professionals can quickly navigate and make strategic improvements with.
This Simple Postflop review will tell you about the main features, download options, and how to use the software for free.
Main Features of the Simple Postflop Solver Tool
Like other poker solvers, Simple Postflop finds Texas Hold ‘em strategies by seeking Nash equilibrium. A powerful algorithm endlessly simulates a given poker situation and tries to find a strategy that is so perfectly balanced that opponents find it (theoretically) impossible to profit against you.
Poker tools like this used to be limited to the most powerful computers, but not anymore.
To get started with the solver, players need some key information:
- At least 3 cards from the flop
- Effective stack sizes
- Amount in the pot
- Bet sizes
- Rake/ICM
Simple Postflop can solve preflop and postflop heads-up scenarios extremely quickly and accurately; but what else can it do?
Free Calculations on the Turn and River (and More Free Stuff)
To help users get acquainted with Simple Preflop, the developers have decided to give free GTO calculations on the turn and river.
They also give users:
- 3 solved flops straight from John Juanda’s book
- A completed solved preflop tree you can review from Will Tipton
Highlight EV and Equity for Every Hand
It’s important to know the EV gained or lost at each branch of the game tree, as well as the equity. Simple Postflop displays everything in the middle and upper right corner of the browser.
By selecting Player Show, you can have the solver highlight EV, Equity, or Strategy.
As you make adjustments to the game tree, the range percentage for each player, EV, and equity for each player automatically adjusts itself.
You’ll also see the flop, turn, and river actions clearly displayed at the bottom of the window.
PokerStars players will be happy to hear that you can easily paste stacks from the site into Simple Postflop. You can set these hand histories so that they auto-export themselves from PokerStars after your sessions.
If you play thousands of hands per week, you should be playing on a site that rewards your time. Our list of online poker sites includes all major rooms, including mobile poker clubs. We can recommend sites that offer you the best rakeback, HUD compatibility, and other things that regular poker players need.
Run Simple Postflop Easily on Different PCs
Simple Postflop will adjust the algorithm it uses to calculate GTO solutions depending on your PC. This way, you aren’t overloading and potentially damaging your PC by asking too much of it.
If your PC struggles with preflop or other GTO calculations, you can pay for a service where one of the Simple Poker techs can do the solution for you. That will take the burden off your computer and calculate using reliable servers.
You can also buy a Simple Postflop Solution Library that will save you a lot of time. You’ll get to view solved sets of preflop and postflop trees, without spending time building them yourself. The pack includes trees for SNG, Spin & Go, MTTs, HU, and important spots like BB vs in-position raiser.
The standalone computer version is for players who need to make lots of calculations without waiting in the server's queue. This means that you won’t have to worry about Simple Poker’s servers being overloaded, but your computer needs to have certain specs.
Recommended specs:
- Windows XP and higher
- 8+ GB RAM
- Intel Core i7
Mac OS users can run Simple Postflop using programs like Parallels or Bootcamp.

Have You Tried GTO Poker Trainers for MTTs?
Tournament poker players know that every decision in multi-table or SNG tournaments can drastically affect their EV and results. Instead of practicing during real money tournaments, you should work on your strategy before and after sessions using ICMIZER 3.
ICMIZER 3 has an Auto-Analyze Hands feature so that you can see exactly where you made mistakes during online poker sessions. You can input your hand history from all major poker sites.
This program hones your push/fold decisions and will make you a stronger tournament poker player. It only shows preflop solutions, but that’s arguably where most players are making mistakes in the late stages of tournaments. Knowing which hands to commit to is a huge advantage.
ICMIZER 3 Pro also gives you an MTT Coach that auto-adjusts based on your skill. You’ll be able to run through drills in specific scenarios and gain more experience than most players can.
